Utah Friends of Paleontology
Utah Friends of Paleontology (UFOP) is a
statewide non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to preserving Utah's
fossil resources through public education and volunteer support of sponsoring
institutions. Certification classes train UFOP members to assist paleontologists
in a variety of ways. Trained volunteers may participate in museum-sponsored
digs, specimen preparation projects, and public outreach programs.
Society of Vertebrate Paleontology
Founded in 1940 by thirty-four paleontologists, the Society now has almost
2,000 members representing professionals, students, artists, preparators, and
others interested in VP. It is organized exclusively for educational and
scientific purposes, with the object of advancing the science of vertebrate
paleontology.

The Paleomap Project
This interactive site, by Richard Scotese, illustrates the
plate tectonic development of the ocean basins and continents, as well as the
changing distribution of land and sea during the past 1100 million years.

This website of Steve Reynolds, geology professor at Arizona State University,
contains numerous color photographs, 3D perspectives, and information about the
Geology of Arizona, landscapes of the Southwest, structural geology, and much
more.
The site also features GeoBlocks 3D, interactive QuickTime Virtual
Reality (QTVR) movies illustrating the three-dimensional nature of geology--specifically, geologic structures within blocks.
The blocks can be manipulated by rotating, making them partially transparent (to view their internal structure),
cutting through or eroding them, and displacing faults.

This interactive website enables you to view the bones of a
